Standard 4K HDMI extenders carry video over CAT cable but drop the audio return path — forcing integrators to run a second cable or add a standalone audio extractor when the TV needs to send eARC or ARC audio back to an AVR or soundbar. The KanexPro EXT-HD4KEARC-50M solves this by extending 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI video and eARC/S/PDIF audio return over a single CAT6/6a cable up to 50m/164ft, delivering both video and full-resolution audio return in one compact TX/RX kit.
A dual-mode dial switch on the receiver selects eARC for TVs that support it — passing PCM 7.1 192KHz, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X — or S/PDIF for legacy TVs, carrying PCM 2.0, Dolby 5.1, and DTS 5.1 via optical. HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 compliant with HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG pass-through. Bi-directional wideband IR, CEC pass-through, and a 4-mode EDID DIP switch round out integration, while the compact metal enclosure and dual 5V power supplies keep installation simple.
