Overview

Switches two monitors, a keyboard, mouse, and USB peripherals between two PCs with a single button press, hotkey, or IR remote — no cable swapping, no desk clutter. The KVM-2X1DUAL8K handles dual HDMI displays simultaneously, so both screens follow your active computer in Mode 1, or each monitor stays locked to a different PC in Mode 2.

Built for dual-monitor power users, traders, developers, and control room operators. Supports 4K60 4:4:4 and 2K@144Hz for gaming and design work, with HDCP 2.3 for protected content. USB 3.0 sharing at 5Gbps connects webcams, printers, and external drives to whichever PC is active. Keyboard and mouse hotkey switching (Scroll Lock or Ctrl sequences), front-panel buttons, IR remote, and RS-232 commands provide four ways to switch. Built-in EDID emulators prevent resolution negotiation delays. Ships with 4× HDMI cables + 2× USB cables — ready to connect out of the box.

Key features

What is included in the box?
The package includes 1 KVM switcher, 1 IR remote, 1 38KHz IR receiver cable (1.5m), 1 3-pin phoenix connector, 2 USB 3.0 A-to-B cables (1.8m), 4 HDMI cables (1.5m), 2 mounting ears with 4 machine screws, 1 12V/1A multinational locking power supply, and 1 user manual.
What environments is the KVM-2X1DUAL8K designed for?
Dual-monitor power users, traders, developers, and control room operators who need to share two displays, a keyboard, a mouse, and USB peripherals between two PCs without physically swapping cables.
What sets this apart from a basic single-display KVM switch?
Both HDMI outputs switch together, zero added latency, and HDR pass-through on both displays let a dual-monitor workstation switch computers without any perceptible lag or dropped HDR metadata.
What resolutions and HDCP version does the KVM-2X1DUAL8K support?
HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.3 compliance, supporting 4K60 4:4:4 8-bit and 2K@60Hz/144Hz on both displays simultaneously.
What HDR formats pass through?
HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG pass through on both outputs with zero added video or audio latency.
What switching methods are available?
Four methods: the front-panel SELECT button, keyboard/mouse hotkeys (double-tap Scroll Lock or Ctrl, then 1, 2, PgUp, PgDn, or F12; or double-click the scroll wheel plus left/right click), the included IR remote, and RS-232 ASCII commands over the 3-pin phoenix port.
What RS-232 commands are available?
Commands include power z! (power on/off), s input/usb z! (switch to PC 1 or 2), s auto switch x! (enable/disable auto-switch), s output mode z! (set Mode 1 or Mode 2), s beep z! (buzzer on/off), s output x stream z!, r status!, and reset!. The manual documents the serial settings as 114200 baud, 8 d
What USB peripherals are supported and how do they follow the active PC?
Webcams, printers, scanners, and external drives connected to the shared USB 3.0 ports follow whichever PC is currently active. Two of the front USB 3.0 ports are dedicated hotkey ports for keyboard and mouse; when the HOTKEY switch is on, those two ports drop to USB 1.1 for keyboard/mouse only, so
What are the unit dimensions, weight, and power requirements?
The switch measures approximately 8.66 x 3.94 x 1.18in (220 x 100 x 30mm) and weighs about 1.38lb (626g). It ships with a 12V/1A multinational locking DC power adapter and draws about 5.18W typical, 0.6W standby.
One or both displays go black after switching. What should I check?
Power-cycle the KVM, verify both HDMI cable connections, and confirm the source PC is actively outputting to both HDMI A and HDMI B, since the built-in EDID emulators are designed to prevent this but a bad cable or inactive output can still cause it.
