Overview

The COL-HUD-42 brings full matrix switching to the huddle room — four sources route independently to two displays, giving dual-display rooms the flexibility to show different content on each screen simultaneously. Two USB-C inputs deliver DP Alt mode 4K60 4:4:4, USB 3.2 Gen 1 KVM, 1G Ethernet, and up to 100W PD charging; two HDMI inputs handle legacy and fixed sources. All four can be routed to either output independently.

Built on the same platform as the COL-HUD-21 and COL-HUD-21D, the COL-HUD-42 adds a second HDMI output, four sources, and dual host ports — while keeping the same balanced audio I/O, dual 1G Ethernet with 802.1x/VLAN, CEC/IR/RS-232 display control, and Web GUI that IT teams rely on across the family. The step-up choice for medium conference rooms, training spaces, and any room where two independent display zones are required.

4×2 HDMI & USB-C Huddle Room Matrix Switcher applications
What is the maximum video resolution?
Up to 4K60Hz 4:4:4 (18Gbps) on all inputs and both HDMI outputs. USB-C inputs require DP 1.4a Alt mode on the source device.
Can each output be set to a different resolution?
Yes. Each output has independent video mode settings (Auto, Bypass, Force 1080p, Internal Pattern) configurable via Web GUI or API command 'set output x video y'.
How do I route each output independently via API?
Use 'set output 1 from x' for OUT1 and 'set output 2 from x' for OUT2, where x=1 (USB-C IN1), 2 (USB-C IN2), 3 (HDMI IN3), or 4 (HDMI IN4). Both outputs can be set in the same command sequence.
How does auto-switching work with two outputs?
Each output has independent auto-switching. 'set output 1 auto switch 1' and 'set output 2 auto switch 1' enable per-output auto-switching. Or use 'set output 0 auto switch 1' to enable on both simultaneously.
What power supply is required?
Included 24V/7.5A (AC 100–240V, 50/60Hz). USB-C charging only active when DC 24V supply is connected.
How do I mount it?
Attach mounting ears with 4× KM3×6 screws. Unit is 10.63 inches wide × 0.91 inches tall. Use rubber feet for desktop placement.
No video from USB-C laptop?
Verify the laptop supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. HOST3 is data only — video requires USB-C IN1 or IN2. Try setting EDID to 1080P60.
OUT2 shows same source as OUT1?
OUT1 and OUT2 are independently routed. Use the OUT2 front panel selector or 'set output 2 from x' command to select a different source.
How does independent output routing work?
Each HDMI output has its own source selector on the front panel. OUT1 and OUT2 can show the same or different sources simultaneously — any of the four inputs routed to either output independently.
Does 100W USB-C charging work on both USB-C inputs?
Yes. Each USB-C input supports up to 100W PD. When both are active simultaneously, each delivers 50W. With one connected, up to 100W.
