What is the latest firmware version?

MCU V1.00.15 with scaler 2025-03-03 (May 2025). It makes the RES button skip resolutions the display does not support, speeds up the picture on input 4, updates the built-in EDID and makes Auto the default output resolution.

What are the RS-232 settings?

115200 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, on the rear 3-pin 3.81mm Phoenix connector. Wire PC TX to unit RX, PC RX to unit TX, and ground to ground.

Can the VW-MVIEW4X1 be controlled over the network?

No. TCP/IP control is not supported on this model. Control it over RS-232 (from a PC with the controller software, or from a control system), the IR remote, the front panel or the OSD menu.

Where can I download the controller software and firmware?

On the product page under Resources > Firmware. One download holds the 4K60 Multi-Viewer Controller for Windows v1.0.11, the latest firmware, the product manual and the RS-232 command reference.

How is the RS-232 port used?

A 3-pin phoenix RS-232 connector on the rear panel connects to a PC or control system for serial firmware upgrade or RS-232 command control.

What does the RS-232 command format look like?

Plain ASCII ending with an exclamation mark. Commands starting with s set a value and r reads it, for example s multiview 5! for quad view or r fw version!. Send help! for the full list, also in the RS-232 Command Reference.

How do I update the firmware?

Connect a PC to the RS-232 port and open the controller software at 115200 baud. Go to System > Firmware Upgrade, load the MCU file and click Upgrade, then the scaler file, then Reboot. Keep power and the cable connected until each update finishes.

Is the software download safe to install?

Yes. It was virus-scanned in full on 2026-10-01. The installer is not yet digitally signed, so Windows may name an unknown publisher: check the SHA-256 fingerprint in our knowledge base article, then choose More info > Run anyway.

The controller software will not connect. What should I check?

Select COM Control Mode, the correct COM port and 115200 baud. Check that TX and RX are crossed between the PC and the unit, ground is connected, and any USB-to-serial adapter driver is installed. The unit needs MCU firmware V1.00.09 or later.

What resolutions does the VW-MVIEW4X1 support?
