Overview

The AVO-IP265HD-ENC distributes one HDMI source to an unlimited number of 1080p displays over the standard 1G network you already run. It is a compact metal-enclosure encoder that draws power over the network — PoE (802.3af Class 3, PD mode) means the source end needs no local adapter on a PoE switch — and it racks densely, up to twelve units in a 4U frame or eight in a single 1U. That makes it the right choice for signage, hospitality, education, houses of worship and operations centers, where reach, density and total system cost matter more than 4K.

Riding a managed 1G switch, it supports point-to-point extension, signal distribution, multicast, distributed matrix switching and video wall up to 9×9, with H.265/H.264 compression that keeps each stream light enough to carry over an ordinary gigabit network. Streams are configured from the built-in Web GUI or a Controller Box, and the unit is controlled over RS-232 (pass-through and guest mode), TCP/IP, Web GUI and Controller Box, with LPCM 2.0 audio embedding and extraction. Paired with its companion AVO-IP265HD-DEC decoder, the system turns display expansion into an add-a-decoder job rather than a new matrix — the AVO-IP265HD-DEC decoder is sold separately.

1080P60 H.265 AV over IP Encoder applications
How does the AVO-IP265HD-ENC pair with decoders in a larger system?
Set the encoder and decoder IDs on their Video Configuration pages, then match them by RS-232 command or through the Controller Box Web GUI with all units on the same switch. The encoder ID range is 1 to 762.
What is the maximum video resolution the AVO-IP265HD-ENC encodes?
Up to 1920x1200@60Hz 4:4:4. It accepts 8-bit, 10-bit or 12-bit color at the input (1080p@60Hz) and is HDMI 1.3 and HDCP 1.4 compliant.
What video compression does the AVO-IP265HD-ENC use?
H.265 or H.264, selectable per stream, with H.265 as the default. It carries up to 4.95 Gbps of video bandwidth.
How is the AVO-IP265HD-ENC controlled?
By RS-232 (pass-through and Guest mode), TCP/IP, the built-in Web GUI, or a Controller Box. Stream parameters can be configured from the Web GUI or the Controller Box.
Can the AVO-IP265HD-ENC do matrix switching without a Controller Box?
Yes. After setting encoder and decoder IDs in the Web GUI, connect an RS-232 port to a PC or control system and send !OUT xxx FR yyy to route decoder ID xxx to the AVO-IP265HD-ENC with ID yyy.
What plugs into the AVO-IP265HD-ENC?
The rear panel has one HDMI IN (Type A, 19-pin female) for the source, one LAN RJ45 (PoE) to the switch, one 3-pin phoenix AUDIO IN/OUT, and one 3-pin phoenix RS-232 port.
How is the AVO-IP265HD-ENC powered?
Either from the included 12 V / 1 A locking DC adapter, or by PoE (802.3af Class 3, PD mode) from the network switch. When the switch supplies PoE, the DC adapter is not needed.
The AVO-IP265HD-ENC shows an image on no display and its green LINK LED is flashing at 2 Hz. What is wrong?
That pattern means the network is connected but there is no video input. Confirm the HDMI source is on and connected to the HDMI IN, and that the source is outputting a signal.
The AVO-IP265HD-ENC green LINK LED is flashing quickly at 5 Hz. What does that mean?
The network is connected but the input signal is incompatible, meaning a resolution above 1920x1200 or a frame rate above 60. Lower the source output to within 1920x1200 at 60 Hz or below.
This is 1080p, not 4K — why would I spec it over a 4K AVoIP system?
When the displays are 1080p-native — signage panels, sports-bar screens, classroom projectors — 4K endpoints and the 10G switching they often need add cost the picture never uses. This encoder delivers matrix, multicast, and video-wall distribution at the resolution your screens actually run, on a s
