Overview

Terminates one JPEG2000 stream from your 1-gigabit network into visually lossless 4K60 4:4:4 at the display, using the copper switching the site already has. Housed in a rack-mountable metal enclosure and powered over PoE (802.3af) straight from the switch, it drives one display as a point-to-point endpoint, as a node in a networked matrix, or as a cell in a video wall up to 9x9. It is the right choice for education, house of worship, control rooms, signage and residential video distribution, where visually lossless fidelity and reach over existing 1G infrastructure matter more than a 10GbE fabric upgrade.

Any display can be reassigned to any source across the shared 1G fabric using unicast or multicast, and IR, RS-232 and CEC pass over IP so head-end control of display power and input travels with the stream. Full HDMI 2.0b at 18Gbps carries HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG with LPCM 7.1, Dolby and DTS-HD audio, a built-in MJPEG substream lets a control app preview each endpoint remotely, and Dante AV-A is available by license activation. As the entry, single-LAN copper decoder in the KanexPro JPEG2000 family, it is the endpoint you order one of per screen and scale by the display, stepping up to the fiber or Dante dual-LAN siblings only where a specific screen needs it. Matching encoder sold separately.

What is the maximum video resolution the AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC outputs?
The AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC outputs up to 4K60 4:4:4, per HDMI 2.0b, with 18Gbps video bandwidth. Output color depth is 8-bit.
Which HDMI audio formats pass through the AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC?
The AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC supports LPCM 2.0/5.1/7.1, Dolby Digital/Plus/EX, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-96/24, DTS-EX, DSD, DTS High Res and DTS-HD Master. Its analog L/R output carries LPCM 2.0 at 192kHz.
How is the AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC controlled in a system?
The AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC supports control via Web GUI, TCP, RS-232, IR, APP and third-party central control. It transmits IR, RS-232 and CEC over the Ethernet link alongside video and audio.
What manages a system of AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC units?
A Controller Box or a third-party controller manages the system; for control details, refer to the separate Video over IP Controller manual. The Controller has separate Video LAN and Control LAN ports so the A/V network stays isolated from the control network.
How is the AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC powered?
The AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC can be powered by PoE (802.3af PD) from the network switch, or by a local DC 12V/2.5A supply. When the switch delivers PoE, the DC adapter is not needed.
What kind of switch does the AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC require?
The switch must be a Layer 3 / managed type with gigabit bandwidth, 8KB jumbo-frame capability and IGMP snooping. If the switch does not support PoE, power the decoder with the DC adapter.
There is no picture on the display connected to the AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC. What do I check?
Check the front panel: the red POWER LED should be on, and the green LINK LED indicates the link state. If the LINK LED is flashing the decoder is linked but receiving no A/V signal, so confirm the encoder has a live source; if it is off the decoder is not linked, so check the network path to the sw
The LINK LED on the AVO-IPJP2KS-DEC is off. What should I look at?
An off LINK LED means the decoder is not linked over LAN (PoE). Check the green Link Signal indicator by the LAN port: if it is off the network cable is not well connected, so reseat the CAT6/6A/7 at both the decoder and the switch.
Do I need a 10GbE network to run this?
No. It is designed for standard 1-gigabit Ethernet. It uses JPEG2000 compression to carry 4K60 4:4:4 over the copper switching most sites already have, which is the main reason to choose it over uncompressed SDVoE systems that require a 10GbE fabric and premium switches.
Is the picture actually lossless, or will I see compression artifacts?
JPEG2000 is visually lossless at 4K60 4:4:4 — it preserves full color and fine text and UI detail. This is the fidelity tier above H.264/H.265 endpoints, which is why it suits signage, control rooms, and detailed content rather than only video playback.
