Overview

Distributes one HDMI source as visually lossless 4K60 4:4:4 across a matrix, video wall, or KVM system over the standard 1G copper network you already run. The encoder is a black metal endpoint powered by standard PoE or local DC 12V/2.5A, drawing 9.12W maximum, and folds dual RJ45 LAN ports, an HDMI loop-out, RS-232, IR, CEC, USB 2.0, and relay/digital-I/O contact control into a single rack-mountable device. It is the right choice for corporate, higher-education, control-room, and house-of-worship installations where full-chroma 4K60, Dante audio separation, and endpoint control matter more than the cost and switch replacement of a 10GbE/SDVoE fabric.

The AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC covers point-to-point, full matrix switching, and video wall up to 9x9 with intelligent video-wall class management, unicast and multicast, alongside USB 2.0 KVM, RS-232, bidirectional IR, CEC, and two relay plus two digital-I/O contact ports for room automation. Control runs through the front-panel buttons, IR, RS-232, TCP/IP, and a built-in web GUI with Telnet and SSH, and Dante AV-A is enabled by license activation rather than as a separate hardware SKU. Its defining feature is a dual copper LAN design: LAN Mode 2 carries JPEG2000 video on the PoE LAN 1 while Dante audio runs on LAN 2, physically separating the audio network from the video transport, or LAN Mode 1 consolidates both streams on LAN 1. Matching JPEG2000 decoder sold separately.

What is the maximum video resolution the AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC supports, and in what color format?
The AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC supports up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4, per HDMI 2.0b, with 18Gbps video bandwidth and HDCP 2.2.
How far can the AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC send signal over network cable?
Transmission distance is 100m over CAT6/6A/7 cable.
What control protocols can I use to integrate the AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC?
The AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC can be controlled by front-panel buttons, IR, RS-232, TCP/IP, web GUI, Telnet, and SSH.
Does the AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC provide contact-closure control for a system?
Yes, it has two isolated relay ports (max 1A 30VDC, open by default) and two digital I/O GPIO ports for output control or input detection up to 12V.
How do I power the AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC?
The AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC runs from standard PoE (PD mode) on the LAN 1 port or from a local DC 12V/2.5A supply; the DC adapter is not needed when the switch supplies PoE.
What kind of network switch does the AVO-IPJP2KD-ENC need?
It needs an L3/managed Gigabit switch with 8KB jumbo frame and IGMP snooping enabled.
There is no picture and the green LINK LED is off. What do I check?
LINK off means the unit is not linked; confirm both ends are cabled to LAN 1(PoE), that the managed switch has IGMP snooping enabled, and that the CAT6/6A/7 run is within 100m.
The LINK LED is flashing green but I get no image. What is wrong?
A flashing LINK LED means the unit is linked but has no video, so check that the source is active at HDMI IN and that the HDMI cable is within its length limit for the resolution (16ft/5m at 4K60).
What network does it need — do we have to replace our switches?
No. It runs on standard managed Gigabit copper with IGMP for multicast, not a 10GbE/SDVoE fabric. That is the core reason to choose this tier over uncompressed AV over IP: system cost and switch compatibility. Endpoints are standard PoE, so a PoE switch can power them without local adapters.
How does the Dante audio work, and is it an extra box?
Dante AV-A is enabled by license activation on the same encoder — not a separate hardware SKU. The dual-LAN design lets you run Dante audio on LAN 2 and JPEG2000 video on LAN 1 (the default mode), or carry both on the PoE LAN 1 if you prefer a single link. That keeps audio routing on your Dante netw
