Overview

Brings visually lossless 4K60 4:4:4 JPEG2000 encoding to BYOD and UC rooms — with a dual HDMI and USB-C input that automatically switches to whichever source is connected, and a dedicated USB-C IN 2 port that delivers up to 100W of power back to the presenter's laptop. The AVO-IPJP2KUC-ENC eliminates the dongle problem in huddle rooms and conference spaces: a single USB-C cable connects the laptop, shares the display, routes USB peripherals for KVM, and keeps the laptop charged — all while distributing 4K60 video to any compatible JPEG2000 decoder on the same 1G network.

Where standard JPEG2000 encoders require a dedicated AV rack source, the AVO-IPJP2KUC-ENC is designed for presenter-driven spaces. Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG passthrough cover every content type a laptop or mobile workstation produces. ARC, eARC, S/PDIF, and analog audio return bring display audio back to the room without extra cabling. Optional Dante AV-A ties the encoder into professional audio infrastructure. Compatible with any AVO-IPJP2K-series decoder and the AVO-IPCTL-JP2K controller for matrix switching, video wall, and KVM roaming.

What inputs does the AVO-IPJP2KUC-ENC support?
HDMI IN (Type A, HDMI 2.0b) and USB-C IN 1 (video/audio/USB data via DisplayPort Alt Mode). A third port, USB-C IN 2, is for PD charging only and does not carry video.
What HDR formats are supported?
HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG — on both input and output. This is unique in the JP2K encoder family; AVO-IPJP2K and AVO-IPJP2KD support HDR10 only.
Which decoders are compatible with the AVO-IPJP2KUC-ENC?
All AVO-IPJP2K-series decoders: AVO-IPJP2K (includes decoder), AVO-IPJP2KD (includes decoder), AVO-IPJP2KS (includes decoder), and AVO-IPJP2KD-DEC (decoder only). All use the same JPEG2000 platform and are interoperable.
Does it work with the AVO-IPCTL-JP2K controller?
Yes — fully compatible. The AVO-IPCTL-JP2K manages matrix switching, video wall (up to 9×9), KVM roaming, input switching mode (Auto/Manual USB-C/HDMI), and Dante AV-A management across all JPEG2000 SKUs.
How do I connect a laptop via USB-C?
Connect the laptop's USB-C/Thunderbolt port to USB-C IN 1. For charging, connect a USB-C PD adapter (up to 100W) to USB-C IN 2. For KVM, connect the USB HOST (Type B) port on the encoder rear to any USB-A port on the laptop or a USB hub.
How do I set up auto-switching between HDMI and USB-C?
Auto-switching is enabled by default. When a signal is detected on USB-C IN 1, the encoder switches to USB-C input automatically. When USB-C is disconnected, it reverts to HDMI IN. To use Manual mode, configure input selection via Web GUI (Functions page) or API command.
No video when USB-C laptop is connected — what should I check?
1) Verify the laptop supports DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt via USB-C. 2) Try the HDMI IN port to confirm the encoder and network are working. 3) Check LINK LED — solid green = connected. 4) In Web GUI, confirm Functions page shows USB-C input active. 5) Re-plug USB-C cable — allow 2–3 seconds
Laptop is not charging via USB-C IN 2 — what should I check?
1) Confirm a USB-C PD adapter (min 65W, up to 100W) is connected to USB-C IN 2. 2) Verify the laptop supports USB-C PD charging. 3) Check the PD adapter is powered on. 4) USB-C IN 2 is charging-only — ensure you are using USB-C IN 1 for video and USB-C IN 2 for power.
Why choose AVO-IPJP2KUC-ENC over AVO-IPJP2K?
The UC-ENC adds USB-C input with PD 100W laptop charging and Dolby Vision/HLG. It's encoder-only — ideal for BYOD rooms where the primary source is a presenter's laptop. AVO-IPJP2K is an encoder/decoder pair with HDMI-only input for fixed AV rack sources.
Is Dolby Vision important for BYOD deployments?
Increasingly yes — modern laptops output Dolby Vision HDR for presentation content, video playback, and creative work. The UC-ENC passes Dolby Vision through the JPEG2000 stream to connected displays, preserving the laptop's native HDR output. Competitors in the JPEG2000 space support HDR10 only.
