Overview

The KanexPro AUD-DTE-DCODE is a Dante®-enabled 2-channel analog audio decoder built on the Dante Ultimo solution. It receives Dante® digital audio from the network and outputs two-channel balanced or unbalanced analog audio via a 6-pin Phoenix connector, delivering clean line-level signal directly to amplifiers, powered speakers, and mixers in installed AV environments.

A 3-position GAIN switch (+18dBu, 0dBu default, -10dBv) matches output level to destination equipment. Powered by PoE or DC 12V via Phoenix connector, it installs at any point in the audio signal chain without additional power supplies.

Key features
  • Converts Dante® 2CH digital audio to balanced/unbalanced analog output via 6-pin Phoenix connector

How does the AUD-DTE-DCODE fit into a rack-room analog handoff?
The DANTE (PoE) port receives 2CH audio from any Dante source on the network and the 6-pin Phoenix output delivers balanced or unbalanced analog directly to an amplifier, powered speaker, or mixer using screw-terminal field wiring.
How is the AUD-DTE-DCODE powered?
It accepts PoE IEEE 802.3af Class 0 through the DANTE RJ45 port, or DC 12V through the included 2-pin Phoenix connector when PoE is unavailable; maximum power consumption is 1.32W.
There is no Dante link on the decoder - what should I check?
Confirm the DANTE (PoE) RJ45 port is connected to a PoE-capable switch with a CAT6 or CAT6A straight-through cable (not cross-connected) and check that the green LINK LED is solid on; the yellow DATA LED should flash during active transmission.
What analog output levels does the unit provide?
Balanced/unbalanced analog output is selectable via a 3-position GAIN switch: +18dBu, 0dBu (default), or -10dBv, with a maximum output of +18dBu.
What Dante audio formats does the AUD-DTE-DCODE accept?
It accepts Dante 2CH PCM audio at 44.1kHz, 48kHz, or 96kHz, 24-bit, and is AES67 RTP compatible.
How do I set the output gain to match my amplifier input?
Set the 3-position GAIN dip switch: position 1 for +18dBu on high-headroom professional inputs, position 2 (default) for 0dBu standard line inputs, or position 3 for -10dBv on consumer-level inputs; activate only one position at a time.
How do I wire the analog output?
Use the included 6-pin Phoenix male connector (3.81mm pitch), pin order CH1+ / CH1- / GND / CH2+ / CH2- / GND, for balanced or unbalanced field wiring to an amplifier or powered speaker.
The audio output level is too hot or too quiet at the amplifier input - what should I check?
Verify the GAIN dip switch position matches the connected device's input sensitivity: +18dBu for professional balanced inputs, 0dBu for standard line inputs, or -10dBv for consumer-level inputs.
The unit has no power and is not connected to a PoE switch - what should I check?
Connect a regulated 12V DC power supply to the 2-pin Phoenix DC IN connector using the included 2-pin Phoenix male connector as an alternative to PoE.
How does the AUD-DTE-DCODE pair with KanexPro's Dante encoder line?
It serves as the receive-side companion to encoders such as the AUD-DTE-ECODE and AUD-DTE-USB, converting their Dante signal back to balanced or unbalanced analog at the amplifier or powered speaker end of the signal chain.
