Overview

The KanexPro AUD-DTE-XLROUT converts Dante® 2CH digital audio into two-channel balanced or unbalanced XLR analog audio for professional AV and installed sound environments. Built on the Dante Ultimo 2×2 platform, it delivers network audio directly to amplifiers, mixers, speakers, and legacy analog gear via integrated 30cm XLR male pigtail leads.

Five selectable output gain levels (+18dBu to -10dBv) provide per-channel level matching at the destination. Powered by PoE (802.3af Class 0) or USB-C, it deploys anywhere without external power supplies.

Key features

How is the adapter cabled into a Dante system and connected to its destination?
Connect the DANTE RJ45 port to a PoE switch using CAT6, CAT6A, or CAT7 straight-through Ethernet cable (do not cross-connect), up to 100m/328ft at 100Mbps. Each channel's audio exits via an integrated 30cm XLR male pigtail lead (CH1 and CH2) for direct connection to an amplifier or mixing console XL
How does the AUD-DTE-XLROUT pair with the AUD-DTE-XLRIN?
The manual's application example shows the AUD-DTE-XLRIN (XLR Encoder) feeding analog XLR sources into the Dante network, with the AUD-DTE-XLROUT decoding that Dante audio back to XLR at the amplifier or mixing console, forming a matched encode/decode pair for Dante audio distribution.
What application is the AUD-DTE-XLROUT designed for?
It is built for integrators who need to bring Dante digital audio into an XLR-only signal chain, such as feeding a legacy amplifier, mixing console, or powered speaker directly from a Dante network without an external DAC or breakout box.
What is the maximum XLR output level and impedance?
The XLR outputs deliver up to +18dBu balanced or +12dBu unbalanced, with an output impedance of 600 Ohm balanced and 300 Ohm unbalanced.
What is included in the box?
The package contains one Dante 2CH XLR Output Adapter, two hook-and-loop fasteners for mounting, and one user manual.
There is no audio at the XLR outputs even though the unit is powered. What should I check?
Confirm the yellow DATA LED on the DANTE port is flashing, indicating active audio transmission, and verify a valid Dante audio flow has been routed to the device in Dante Controller. Also check that the CH1/CH2 gain knob is not set to a level that under-drives the connected input.
What audio formats does the AUD-DTE-XLROUT accept on its Dante input?
The unit accepts Dante PCM 2-channel audio at 44.1, 48, 88.2, or 96kHz sampling rates at 16 or 24-bit depth, and is AES67 RTP compatible.
What is the audio performance of the analog output?
The AUD-DTE-XLROUT specifies SNR greater than 100dB at 0dBu/1kHz, THD+N below 0.01% at +4dBu/1kHz, and a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz +/-0.5dB.
Can device settings be reset from the unit itself?
The RESET button on the unit performs a system reboot only. Device configuration reset must be performed through Dante Controller, not from the unit's physical controls.
Does the XLROUT support firmware updates over its USB-C port?
No. The manual specifies that the USB-C port on this model is power-only, with no firmware update function.
