Overview

The AUD-DTE-USBC bridges any USB-C device directly into a Dante® audio network — no drivers, no dedicated interface hardware, no additional power supply required. Built on the Dante® Ultimo 2×2 engine, it converts two-channel USB audio from laptops, smartphones, and tablets into full-resolution Dante® network audio at sampling rates up to 96kHz/24-bit, while simultaneously accepting USB audio output at up to 192kHz/24-bit. A single RJ45 connection to a PoE-capable switch delivers both the Dante network stream and device power over the same cable — eliminating the need for a separate power supply in most installations.

Designed for conference rooms, classrooms, houses of worship, and distributed audio systems, the AUD-DTE-USBC operates as a plug-and-play USB audio class 1.0/2.0 device, recognized natively by macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. Dante® Controller software manages routing, latency (1/2/5ms configurable), and AES67 interoperability — giving integrators full network audio control without touching the host device. The compact plastic enclosure includes integrated hook-and-loop mounting for concealed installation under tables, behind displays, or inside equipment enclosures.

What Dante audio format does the AUD-DTE-USBC use?
Dante input/output carries PCM 2CH digital audio at 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, or 96kHz, 24-bit.
What is the audio performance of the AUD-DTE-USBC?
Both USB audio input and output paths deliver signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range greater than 130dB at 1kHz A-weighted, THD+N under 0.01% at +4dBu/1kHz, frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz (+/-0dB), and audio output sync delay under 10ms.
Are the USB-C audio port and the USB-C power port the same connector?
No. The unit has two separate 12-pin female USB-C ports: the USB-C (Audio) port carries bidirectional USB audio, and the separate POWER port handles 5V/500mA power input and firmware updates.
Does the AUD-DTE-USBC require drivers on mobile devices?
No. It is USB audio device class 1.0/2.0-compatible and works without driver installation on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
How is the AUD-DTE-USBC powered?
It accepts PoE IEEE 802.3af Class 0 through the DANTE RJ45 port, or USB-C 5V/500mA through the POWER port when PoE is unavailable; maximum power consumption is 1.65W.
What are the dimensions and weight of the AUD-DTE-USBC?
4.53 in x 1.57 in x 1.10 in (115 x 40 x 28mm), 0.21 lbs (0.09kg), in a black plastic enclosure.
The AUD-DTE-USBC is unresponsive - how do I recover it?
Press the RESET button to reboot the unit; note that RESET performs a reboot only, and any device setting resets must be performed through Dante Controller.
The connected USB-C device is not receiving or sending audio - what should I check?
Confirm the source or playback device is connected to the USB-C (Audio) port (not the separate POWER port), and check the green USB-C LED to confirm the port has power.
How does the AUD-DTE-USBC pair with the AUD-DTE-2CHAMP in a system?
The application example shows a USB-C device streaming bidirectional audio through the AUD-DTE-USBC to a PoE network switch, which carries the Dante signal to an AUD-DTE-2CHAMP amplifier for 75W-per-channel playback.
What deployment benefit does dual PoE/USB-C power provide?
PoE lets the adapter be permanently installed and powered from the network switch, while USB-C bus power supports temporary or portable use without a dedicated power supply.
