Overview

The KanexPro AUD-DTE-ECODE is a Dante®-enabled 2-channel analog audio encoder built on the Dante Ultimo solution. It accepts balanced or unbalanced analog audio via a 6-pin Phoenix connector and encodes it as Dante® 2CH digital audio for transmission over a standard Ethernet network.

A 3-level GAIN switch (+18dBu, 0dBu default, -10dBv) matches input sensitivity to the connected source. Powered by PoE or DC 12V, it is designed for permanent installation in commercial AV environments where screw-terminal Phoenix wiring is standard practice.

Key features
  • Converts 2-channel balanced/unbalanced analog audio to Dante® 2CH digital audio via 6-pin Phoenix connector
  • 3-level input gain adjustment: +18dBu, 0dBu (default), -10dBv via GAIN dip switch
  • Dante® audio sampling: 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz @ 24-bit; AES67 RTP compatible
  • Configurable Dante® device latency via Dante® Controller software
  • Installation-grade Phoenix connector input — screw-terminal field wiring, no pigtails
  • Dual power: PoE IEEE 802.3af Class 0 or DC 12V via 2-pin Phoenix connector
  • Metal enclosure, compact 120×47×26mm — companion form factor to AUD-DTE-DCODE

How does the AUD-DTE-ECODE fit into a mixer-to-network signal chain?
The 6-pin Phoenix input accepts the analog output of a mixer console or line source, and the unit encodes it to Dante 2CH PCM for delivery over the DANTE (PoE) RJ45 port to any Dante-enabled amplifier or DSP on the network.
There is no Dante link from the encoder - what should I check?
Confirm the DANTE (PoE) RJ45 port is connected to a PoE-capable switch with a CAT6 or CAT6A straight-through cable (not cross-connected) and check that the green LINK LED is solid on; the yellow DATA LED should flash during active transmission.
How is the AUD-DTE-ECODE powered?
It accepts PoE IEEE 802.3af Class 0 through the DANTE RJ45 port, or DC 12V through the included 2-pin Phoenix connector when PoE is unavailable; maximum power consumption is 1.2W.
Why choose the AUD-DTE-ECODE for legacy analog sources on a Dante network?
Its 6-pin Phoenix screw-terminal input and 3-level gain switch are built for installation-grade field wiring, letting integrators put existing mixers, BGM sources, or line-level processors onto a Dante network without pigtail adapters.
What analog input levels does the unit accept?
Balanced/unbalanced analog input is selectable via a 3-position GAIN switch: +18dBu, 0dBu (default), or -10dBv.
What Dante audio format does the AUD-DTE-ECODE output?
It outputs Dante 2CH PCM audio at 44.1kHz, 48kHz, or 96kHz, 24-bit, and is AES67 RTP compatible.
How do I set the input gain to match my source?
Set the 3-position GAIN dip switch: position 1 for +18dBu on high-headroom professional outputs, position 2 (default) for 0dBu standard line-level sources, or position 3 for -10dBv on consumer-level sources; activate only one position at a time.
How do I wire the analog input?
Use the included 6-pin Phoenix (IN) male connector (3.81mm pitch), pin order CH1+ / CH1- / GND / CH2+ / CH2- / GND, for balanced or unbalanced field wiring from a mixer, DSP, or line source.
The encoded signal is clipping or too quiet at the receiving Dante device - what should I check?
Verify the GAIN dip switch position matches the connected source's output level: +18dBu for professional balanced outputs, 0dBu for standard line-level sources, or -10dBv for consumer-level sources.
The unit has no power and is not connected to a PoE switch - what should I check?
Connect a regulated 12V DC power supply to the 2-pin Phoenix DC IN connector using the included 2-pin Phoenix male connector as an alternative to PoE.
