Overview

Dante® networks are wired by design — but the presenters, performers, and guests in your spaces aren't. The KanexPro AUD-DTE-BT bridges that gap without compromise: Bluetooth 5.1 audio from any smartphone, tablet, or laptop streams directly onto your Dante® network as clean 2-channel PCM digital audio, with no analog conversion stage, no extra adapters, and no signal degradation between source and destination. Where competing adapters stop at basic AAC or standard APTX, the AUD-DTE-BT adds APTX-LL for near-zero-latency performance audio and APTX-HD for high-resolution wireless streaming — making it the right node for collaboration spaces, houses of worship, hospitality venues, and live event rigs alike.

Built on the Dante® Ultimo 2×2 platform, the AUD-DTE-BT is a fully managed Dante device — discoverable and configurable via Dante® Controller with selectable latency of 1, 2, or 5ms. A single RJ45 connection handles both Dante audio output and PoE power from any standard 802.3af switch, with USB-C as a backup power option for installations without PoE infrastructure. Bluetooth pairing is handled by a front-panel PAIR button, with a STATUS LED for instant connection feedback. Discoverable mode is configurable via API command to lock the adapter to a single trusted device — eliminating unwanted pairing attempts in multi-room or multi-zone deployments.

Key features
  • Converts Bluetooth 5.1 audio directly to Dante® 2-channel digital audio — no analog conversion stage, no signal degradation end-to-end
  • Full high-quality codec support: SBC, AAC, APTX, APTX-LL (near-zero latency), and APTX-HD (high-resolution) — broader codec coverage than standard Bluetooth-to-Dante adapters
  • Bluetooth input accepts PCM 2CH audio at 44.1K–192kHz / 16–24-bit — Dante output delivers PCM 2CH at 48kHz / 24-bit
  • Built on Dante® Ultimo 2×2 platform — fully managed via Dante® Controller with configurable device latency of 1, 2, or 5ms
  • PoE IEEE 802.3af Class 0 powered via RJ45 — USB-C 5V/500mA backup power for non-PoE installations
  • Front-panel PAIR button with STATUS LED — short press to pair, long press (5s) to clear and re-pair a new source device
  • Bluetooth discoverable mode configurable via API (USB-C virtual RS-232) — lock adapter to a single trusted device for multi-room deployments
  • Compact plastic enclosure, 115 × 40 × 28mm, 93g — installs anywhere with included hook & loop mounting

What are the input and output audio specifications?
Bluetooth input accepts PCM 2CH audio at 44.1kHz-192kHz, 16/24-bit; Dante output delivers PCM 2CH at 48kHz, 16/24-bit.
Audio has dropouts after pairing - what should I check?
Ensure the Bluetooth source is within range and not obstructed by walls or interference, confirm it supports a high-quality codec such as APTX, APTX-LL, or APTX-HD, and verify the Dante Controller latency setting suits the installation (1ms for local networks, 5ms for larger networks).
What is in the box?
The package includes the Dante 2CH Bluetooth Input Adapter, two hook-and-loop fasteners, and a user manual.
Why choose the AUD-DTE-BT over a standard Bluetooth-to-analog adapter feeding a Dante encoder?
It converts Bluetooth 5.1 audio directly to Dante 2CH digital audio on the Dante Ultimo 2x2 platform with no analog conversion stage, avoiding the signal degradation of a separate analog hop.
What installation scenarios suit the AUD-DTE-BT?
It is designed for BYOD (bring-your-own-device) audio into an existing Dante network, letting a presenter's or guest's smartphone, tablet, or laptop stream directly to any Dante-enabled amplifier, DSP, or mixer on the same switch.
What are the audio performance specs?
Frequency response is 20Hz-20kHz (+/-0dB), signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range both exceed 100dB at 2Vrms/1kHz A-weighted, and THD+N is under 0.01% at 0dBV, 1kHz.
How do I lock the adapter to a single trusted Bluetooth device for multi-room use?
Send the "set bt discover off" API command to disable discoverable mode after pairing to the intended source, preventing other devices from initiating a new pairing; the front-panel PAIR button becomes non-functional while discoverable is off.
How do I pair a Bluetooth source device?
Short-press the front-panel PAIR button to start pairing and select the adapter from the source device's Bluetooth list; long-press PAIR for 5 seconds to clear the current paired device and start a new pairing.
How is the AUD-DTE-BT powered?
It is powered via PoE IEEE 802.3af Class 0 through the DANTE RJ45 port, or via USB-C 5V/500mA as backup power when PoE is unavailable; maximum power consumption is 0.65W.
What are the dimensions and weight of the AUD-DTE-BT?
4.53 in x 1.57 in x 1.10 in (115 x 40 x 28mm), 0.21 lbs (0.09kg), in a black plastic enclosure with included hook-and-loop mounting.
